A Photographic Journey through Historic Granite Park & Sperry Chalets in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Photographs by BRET BOUDA
In this photographic journey The Era of the Chalets you'll find images from and around the last two remaining rustic stone chalets, both listed as a National Historic Landmark taken from 2007-2013. Just spending a few nights at each of these two Hallmarks of History will provide you with opportunities to travel along the trails leading to or from these destinations and to explore some of the best places in the Glacier National Park wilderness. At the end of this pictorial journey are images from 1970-86 taken by Terry Abell, my dear friend and hiking buddy, whose love and knowledge of the park (after spending almost half a century hiking most of the trails) are priceless.
The Era of the Chalets brings together the past, present, and future for all who have traveled the trails to Granite Park and Sperry Chalet. It is indeed a fact that without the unfailing support of passionate lovers of Glacier National Park and its chalets, neither Granite nor Sperry would be operational and open for the public today.
